Start with Recording · Balanced. Keep enough resolution for the text and detail you need to show. Try HEVC for efficient encoding, or H.264 for broader playback compatibility. Use Vivid for a bright Mac-style look, True Color (P3) for a color-faithful workflow, or Standard (709) for common playback environments. Check the saved file in your intended player; motion, display settings, and platform re-encoding can affect the result. Smaller is not automatically better, and compression is not lossless.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording and allow the installed FlowCap app. Quit and reopen if macOS asks. Microphone permission is needed only for Mic or System + Mic.
Speaker output can be picked up again by the microphone. Try headphones and a short recording, then adjust levels in Sound. This version does not promise automatic echo cancellation.
The default destination is the FlowCap folder in Movies; you can choose another location. Open a clip in Recordings, use Finder to locate it, and adjust the Trim range to save a separate copy.
Reopen FlowCap from Applications or switch with Command + Tab. The default shortcut is Control + Shift + R; if it conflicts, use the shortcut shown in the app.
Confirm macOS 15 or later and screen recording permission. Try H.264 and HEVC separately. Send your Mac model, codec, and error text to support. Do not disable macOS security protections.
All recording and editing features in 1.6.1 are free, without a time limit, account, or purchase. Future versions may offer optional paid products; this version does not require a subscription.
Include app version/build, Mac model, macOS version, capture target, audio mode, codec, and reproduction steps. Do not attach private recordings; remove sensitive information from any sample you choose to share.
